About Us

Project Equall was founded in 2016 by Kieron Brady, a former professional footballer who played for Sunderland AFC and represented the Republic of Ireland at international level. In his time since, Kieron has operated in the field of Equality, Diversity and Hate Crime.

His work in the field has seen him deliver hundreds of training days, talks, sessions and speeches on the issues of racism, homophobia, LGBT rights, identity, equality, diversity and hate crime, which developed into the creation of an ACAS reviewed Equality and Diversity e-learning course, nominated as ‘Best Diversity Resource’ in the 2015 UK-wide Excellence in Diversity Awards.

Brady supports a huge host of organisations and in 2012, he became the first ever footballer, past or present, to become Patron of Gay Pride.

He is also Patron of Just a Ball Game, a charity which campaigns around homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, whilst also being a member of the Inter Faith Forum, Disability Independent Advisory Group, LGBT Equality Forum and the Black & Minority Ethnic Network!

His expertise has now seen him taking on speech writing, and he is often asked to provide legal advice, written opinions and expert testimony in Hate Crime cases, notably around racial and religious prejudice.

Our Aims and Objectives

  • To promote equality and respect in the working environment and beyond
  • To educate around diversity and equal opportunities
  • To emphasise that we are all susceptible to being victims of prejudice and discrimination
  • To explain what can constitute unacceptable language and stereotypes
  • To encourage a positive and harmonious working environment for all
  • To dispel myths propagated against different groups, these myths contributing to stereotypes and generalisations, which in turn prove to be a source of hostility and hatred in wider society
  • To empower groups that are traditionally vulnerable and marginalised
  • Just a Ball Game have worked with Kieron for almost three years now and Kieron has been a great supporter of our workload by raising awareness agreeing to become a Patron as a non LGBT+ ally. Kieron has extensive knowledge on all matters covering inclusion and discrimination has worked with us really well. We hope to continue our partnership and involve Kieron whenever possible. Many Thanks for your continued efforts and support.
